Join Bonnie DeGros in the studio and learn how to create your own stunning hand dyed yarn using acid reactive wool dyes, as well as a technique using food colouring which gives surprising yet beautiful results. This 4 hour dye class will suit both a beginner dyer and a dyer with some experience who wants to learn a few more techniques including speckle dyeing, hand painting, kettle dyeing and ombre dyeing.
This class will teach you the basics of color theory and each student will get the opportunity to have full hands on experience dyeing 4 x 50gm skeins of superwash merino using these techniques.
Cost includes all dye materials needed and 4 skeins of 100% superwash merino yarn (variety subject to availability). Additional skeins will be available for purchase in advance or during class.
Class size is limited to 10 participants.

Bonnie is a Wellington-based creative, foodie, midwife and a mother of three. When not cooking, fermenting, midwifing and child-wrangling, she can be found knitting, sewing and foraging for leaves, branches, and other dye stuffs.
