Acid Reactive Dyes 8th September
Join Bonnie DeGros of Union Fibre in the studio and learn how to create your own stunning hand dyed yarn using acid reactive wool dyes, as well as a technique using food colouring which gives surprising yet beautiful results. This 4 hour dye class will suit both a beginner dyer and a dyer with some experience who wants to learn a few more techniques including speckle dyeing, hand painting, kettle dyeing and ombre dyeing.
This class will teach you the basics of colour theory and each student will get the opportunity to have full hands on experience dyeing 4 x 50gm skeins using these techniques.
Cost includes all dye materials needed and 4 skeins of yarn (variety subject to availability). Additional skeins will be available for purchase in advance or during the class.
Class size is limited to 10 participants.

Classes are held in our studio in Newtown, Wellington- Unit 28, 369 Adelaide Road. We are next door to A – Z Flooring and Rich Coffee. Free on street parking on Adelaide Road.
Bonnie is a Wellington-based creative, foodie, midwife and a mother of three. When not cooking, fermenting, midwifing and child-wrangling, she can be found knitting, sewing and foraging for leaves, branches, and other dye stuffs. In both food and dyeing, it is the chemistry that Bonnie finds most interesting. You can find her at Union Fibre.
