Join Bonnie DeGros in the studio and learn how to create your own stunning hand dyed yarn using a range of natural dyes from plants. Bonnie will cover the basics of color theory and how to layer natural dyes. Each student will get the opportunity to have full hands on experience dyeing 4 x 50gm skeins of superwash merino using natural dye techniques with onion skins, avocado pips, alkanet, and cochineal.
This 4 hour class suits both a beginner dyer and a dyer with some experience who wants to learn how to work with both locally available natural dyes and a selection of ancient dyes.
Cost includes all dye materials needed and 4 skeins of 100% superwash merino yarn (variety subject to availability). Additional skeins will be available for purchase in advance or during class.
Class size is limited to 10 participants.
